Guiding Principles

Our Relationship to the Head, The Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 2:19)

  • Worship
Giving ourselves wholeheartedly to the praise, worship and exaltation of our King. (Col. 1:18; 1 Pet. 2:9)
  • Prayer
Devoting ourselves to prayer and intercession that God’s Kingdom will come and His will would be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Jer. 29:12-14; Matt. 6:9-15)
  • The Word of God
Holding fast to God’s faithful Word and applying it to our lives without compromise. (2 Tim. 2:15; 3:16-17; Titus 1:9)
  • The Lordship of Jesus Christ
Becoming conformed to the image of Jesus Christ, and bringing every area of our lives into obedience to His perfect will. (Rom. 8:29; 12:1-2)

Our Relationship to Christ’s Body, The Church (Eph. 1:22-23; 4:12-16)

  • Covenant Relationships
Loving and serving one another through the development of biblical covenant relationships and community. (John 13:34-35; Col. 2:2)
  • Commitment To The Church
Walking out our covenant relationships with one  another in an orderly, responsible and practical manner. (1 Cor. 12:18; Eph. 2:20-21; Heb. 13:17)
  • Family
Envisioning, guarding and strengthening the family as the foundational building units of the church and society. (Eph. 6:1-4; Col. 3:18-21)
  • Participation
Encouraging and equipping each member of the church to “do the work of the ministry.” (Eph. 4:11-12; Rom. 12:4-6)

Our Relationship to the World (2 Cor. 5:17-20; Matt. 28:18-20)

  • Evangelism
Proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom to a lost and dying world; with our words, testifying of repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ: with our actions ministering release to those held captive in the bondages of sin, sickness or oppression. (Mark 16:15-20; Matt. 11:1-5)
  • Discipleship
Providing care and nurture for those whom God has called into His Kingdom, teaching them to observe all that God has commanded. (Matt. 28:20; 2 Tim.2:2)
  • Apostolic Vision
Promoting unity and cooperation amongst the various expressions of Christ’s church; supporting and participating in apostolic ministry and church plantings wherever possible; and extending the vision and reach or our church”into all the world.” (John 17:21; Acts 26:16-18)
  • Salt and Light
Applying the Word of God to the world around us; influencing it for good (preservation), showing it the way to live and conduct its affairs (illumination), and working to see the increase of justice and righteousness in the earth. (Matt. 5:13-120; 6:10; Isa. 9:6-7)

I Corinthians 15:54b-57

“Death is swallowed up in victory. O death where is   your victory? O death, where is your sting?

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
