A Pastor’s Perspective on Issue 1
Why Vote NO in NOvember on Issue 1
A Pastor’s Perspective
If I claim to be a Christian, a Believer or even a Religious or spiritual person then I have an obligation first and foremost to find out what God’s perspective is on the subject of abortion (child killing).
Years ago, one of our Presidents made the statement, “Abortion is nowhere mentioned in the Bible therefore it is permitted!” (Oh really!)
Without taking to much space or time, consider that God condemned the practice of child sacrifice of the surrounding pagan nations of Israel in the Old Testament (Leviticus 20:2)
When His chosen people, Israel, began the practice of child sacrifice, God condemned this practice through the prophets (God’s messengers) “Because the people have forsaken Me… and because they have filled this place with the blood of the innocent…built high places to Baal to burn their sons in the fire…which I did not command or decree – nor did it come into my mind…”(Jeremiah 19:5) Bottom line, God has not changed His mind! (Killing children at any stage is wrong in His sight!)
A woman writes in a local paper, “A fetus within a human mother is a human fetus. A human fetus is a human being at a particular stage of development. Human beings by virtue of their humanity have an inherent right to life….” She goes on to state that, “The same body that a mother will hold in her arms after birth is held in her womb before birth. Two unique individuals – two bodies!”
Yes, the Church needs to be supportive of women who have been the victim of rape or incest or untimely pregnancy, yet destroying the life of an innocent child is not the answer. It is the taking of a life of an unborn child – God has not changed His mind on this – Have you?
Please speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.

“Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. 12 If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it?” ~ Proverbs 24:11-12
